Where It Starts
With additional backing, we will expose the burden of cryptosporidiosis in Nigeria through field-based photography and documentary reporting, using on-the-ground evidence to support policy engagement with Ministries of Health and advance World Health Organization Neglected Tropical Disease recognition.

NPI is partnering with U.S.-based TECHLAB, Inc. to address cryptosporidiosis in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country and one of the most affected. TECHLAB will provide rapid diagnostic test kits, while NPI works with hospitals and communities to detect infections, generate field evidence, and mobilize public health engagement. The goal is to support recognition by the Nigeria Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization of cryptosporidiosis as a Neglected Tropical Disease. This work is only possible with dedicated funding.
